The Jewish Home - Quality Nursing Facility Eastern Pennsylvania

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The Jewish home specializes in rehabilitative therapy. Rehabilitation at the home means restoration of someone to a useful place in society, even at an advanced age, where a hopeful future may seem dim; the treatment of physical disabilities by massage and electrotherapy and exercises, guided by specialists and dedicated care givers adds years of meaningful life to seniors who without the treatment would feel useless and may lose their spirit to carry on. At the Jewish home, all life is precious. As long as one clings to life, the Home is there to provide the best quality of life possible.

Features of quality managed care facilities:

Stressing the importance of healthy eating for seniors; choosing healthy foods to eat and not fast food, junk food or high fat/high sugar foods.

Managing health problems like Diabetes in the elderly: For the average senior person, glucose is nothing more than simple sugar found naturally in the blood. For the millions of people in the United States living with diabetes, elevated glucose is the enemy in a daily battle against life threatening and disabling complications. However, the risks are directly related to how well the disease is controlled and aggressive care from the onset has shown to actually help delay or even stop complications. For seniors the problem is especially complicated.

Dementia care: Dementia-related conditions are the most common illnesses in older people - Alzheimer's Disease is the best known. Depending on the level of need, care is available in nursing or personal care homes.

The Jewish home provide specialist dementia/ Alzheimer's care Through the generousity of the Weinberg Foundation. These offer services with experienced staff and an adapted environment to meet the needs of residents. Dementia care is often referred to as ‘Elderly Mentally Infirm’ or EMI care.
