February 25, 2022,  Letter to Family and Friends

Our main priority is the protection of our residents, staff and families at our facility. We are monitoring COVID-19 data and its impact.

We thank you for your cooperation during this community surge and our recent facility outbreak.  We are pleased to report that full house testing this week for both resident and active staff groups all came back negative, which closes our outbreak status.

Our resident units are now in green status with the exception of our regular isolation yellow zone on the 4th floor used for new admissions and hospital returns.  It is very important that all visitors adhere our visitation guidelines which can be found at Visitation Guidelines on our website.

Our top priority is to protect the residents, staff and families. We encourage and recommend booster shots as a primary way to safeguard residents and staff against the COVID-19 Omicron variant. For information about vaccination rates at nursing homes, please refer to CMS’s Care Compare site through Medicare.gov. Learn about vaccines near you and the CDC’s fact sheet.

As of February 22,, 2022, 95.9% of our residents have been fully vaccinated and 89% have received booster shots. Our staff is 100% vaccinated and 82% of those eligible have received a booster. Overall, our facility staff and residents are 98.5% fully vaccinated and 84.7% of those eligible have received a booster.

Other Facility News: March Madness will be overtaking the Jewish Home!!  Our Life Enrichment department has gotten together with staff from other departments and residents to plan theme days for fun dress and events. March Madness will be happening from March 7- 20. Please take a look at the schedule to see what is planned.  Our staff love to get together to assist the residents who want to participate, with selecting items from their wardrobes to fit the theme, or in some cases adding an accessory. We are putting this out ahead of time so family members know what is coming and can talk with your loved ones and discuss in advance what they may want family to bring in for them to wear on any of the special days. If any particular theme day appeals to you may want to join in and wear something in the theme if you are coming to see your loved one.  While COVID guidelines do limit our ability to have interaction with families in these type of group events in our common areas, this is way for you to join in, if you would like to participate.

Thank you again for entrusting us with the care of your loved ones. If you have any questions, we are always available for you.

Sincerely,

Mary Rose Applegate, MBA, RD, NHA Administrator
