7:30 am -4:00 p.m./8am-4:30p. – varies at times, occasional weekends and holidaysSUMMARY:Drives Jewish Home vehicles to transport residents and staff performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Other duties may be assigned.:
Transports residents and staff to local appointments and errands as scheduled,
Complies with local traffic regulations. Reports delays or accidents or any other problems.
Inspects bus and checks gas, oil, and water before departure. Reports any suspected mechanical problems to the Director of Maintenance.
Assists with loading and unloading of residents. Operates wheel chair lift.
Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort
Performs miscellaneous errands such as carrying mail to and from post office, deliveries of bulk food for congregate meal programs, purchase and pick up of small quantities of supplies from local stores as needed.
Keeps bus clean, polished, and in operating condition.
Light maintenance tasks will be assigned during down time, including but not limited to snow shoveling, alarm checks, and painting.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED. 1-2 years prior experience driving passenger vehicles 15 passenger or larger.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Must be reliable and responsible. Must be able to think, act, and intervene independently in both routine and emergency situations. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Ability to work and function in a responsible manner with minimal supervision.
